Avete qualche canzone da suggerirmi per una lezione divertente ma al tempo stesso educativa?

Ieri ho chiesto ai ragazzini di seconda media su che cantante sarebbe piaciuto loro lavorare in alternativa a John Denver...hanno risposto Elvis Presley, con la sua Jailhouse Rock! Gliel'avevo fatta ascoltare negli ultimi cinque minuti della lezione precedente, ma non immaginavo avesse riscosso questo gran successo!

Mi sono chiesta però se sia un testo adatto alla loro età...la terza strofa mi pare un po' ambigua (dopotutto è ambientata in una prigione, no?)...

Voi che ne pensate?

Primo esperimento!

Eccomi qui, insieme a John Denver! Per chi di voi non lo conoscesse, è quel cantante country famoso per la canzone Take me Home, Country Roads...vi dice qualcosa?

Beh, stamattina ero a tirocinio e dovevo fare la mia prima lezione in seconda media...come potete immaginare ho scelto di far lavorare i ragazzi su questa canzone! L'ho scelta sia perchè mi ricorda la mia infanzia (è una delle canzoni preferite di mia mamma, quando ero piccola l'ascoltava in continuazione!!) sia perchè è un bell'esempio di musica country. Visto che qui in Italia non ne ascoltiamo molta, volevo far conoscere ai ragazzi un esempio di un genere musicale così famoso negli USA.

Beh, devo dire che in tutte e due le classi in cui l'ho fatta ascoltare e poi cantare si sono molto divertiti...alla fine alcuni mi hanno anche ringraziata per la bella lezione, mi hanno proprio fatta felice!

Ricordo come fosse ieri la prima volta in cui la mia prof di inglese delle superiori ha portato in classe il registratore per farci ascoltare una delle sue canzoni preferite: Space Oddity di David Bowie. Devo ammettere che all'epoca (avevo 14 anni) la musica stava entrando per la prima volta a far parte integrante del mio mondo e non sapevo molto bene chi fosse David Bowie. Ricordo però che ne rimasi affascinata e pure un po' commossa (vi metto di seguito le parole della canzone...ero un po' impressionabile all'epoca!).Per un'ora abbiamo lavorato su quella canzone, e ancora oggi dopo 12 anni quando l'ascolto torno con la mente a quel momento e provo tanta nostalgia...non so come mai!Perchè questo racconto? Perchè quando ho deciso di intraprendere la strada dell'insegnante di inglese ho ripensato più volte a quelle sensazioni e ho capito quanto certi momenti, certe piccole cose di ogni giorno che possono sembrare insignificanti, come ad esempio una canzone, abbiano invece un grande peso nella vita dei ragazzi e nel loro futuro.Questo primo messaggio quindi lo dedico alla mia prof, anche se dubito lo leggerà mai!
